ggplot2 (0.9.3.1)
An implementation of the Grammar of Graphics.
http://had.co.nz/ggplot2/
http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/ggplot2
An implementation of the grammar of graphics in R. It combines the advantages of both base and lattice graphics: conditioning and shared axes are handled automatically, and you can still build up a plot step by step from multiple data sources. It also implements a sophisticated multidimensional conditioning system and a consistent interface to map data to aesthetic attributes. See the ggplot2 website for more information, documentation and examples.

Excellent
ggplot2 is absolutely excellent, with much aesthetically appealing default features compared to the built-in graphic system. Moreover, the adoption…

Very flexible, but slow
I have produced many complex graphics with both ggplot and lattice. One recent example required 3 seconds in lattice and 15 seconds in ggplot. In…

Monumental effort by Hadley Wickham
The standard graphics package is great and quick to make simple figures like plot(x, y), hist(x), etc. However, as soon as you want to split your d…

A very practical graphics package
It took me a while to get my head wrapped around the grammar of graphics that orgnizes ggplot2, but it was well worth it. It’s an extremely well th…
