A review of nortest

Test if a set of observations is normally distributed

The nortest package includes common tests for normality of distribution. The older tests like Lilliefors are present as well as newer tests that may avoid problems known to occur with the Lilliefors test. The help pages explain the differences between the tests and will allow most users to select the one appropriate for their data. While testing for normality is often one of those lowly tasks that must be done before the interesting stats are run, the nortest package gets it done easily and well.

Note that my rating of this package is based upon the assumption that 1 is a better rating than 2, and so on.
